Las Vegas Trip

Hey,

I'm back. :D
My vaccation in the USA and in Las Vegas was very nice. I was in Vegas for New Year's Eve (Dec 30th to Jan 2nd) and also played some poker in different Casinos. 3 of my friends and me stayed in the Excalibur Hotel and Casino. On the first day we decided to celebrate in a club, because on New Year's Eve the admissions for the clubs are 150$ and up. We were at the Pure nightclub in Caesars Palace and after that I wanted to play poker, but didn't manage to do that because I was too tired.
On New Year's Eve we woke up around noon and visited some other Hotels. In the early evening I played some poker in our hotel, the Excalibur. There were different tables open and I decided to play 2$/6$ spread limit hold em. It's some kind of fixed limit where you can vary your bets a bit. I stayed very tight, because the table was very loose and I could win abou 30$. After that we got ready for celebrating New Year's Eve on the Strip. The Strip was closed for cars and we could celebrate on the street in front of the New York New York Hotel. The firework wS very disappointing, because only 4 or 5 Hotels made a very small one. But the rest of the New Year's party was nice. :D
After that we visited some ther hotels and I played in the MGM Grand some poker again in the early morning, where I won about 200$ on the 2$/4$ fixed limit tables. Some of the opponents didn't even knew the rules ("Sir, you can't go allin on a fixed limit table for your entire stack"). These Tables again were very loose and profitable.
On the nex Day we woke up very late in the afternoon, visited more Hotels and again...poker.:P
First in the MGM 3$/6$ FL, then in the Aria 4$/8$ FL and finally in the Bellagio NL200. (Bellagio was my favorite). On that evening/night I made another ~200$ and only got some hours of sleep until we left Las Vegas for our journey to San Francisco.

Holidays in the USA

Hey,

Tomorrow I´ll start my holidays in the USA (my first time in the USA) :D
I'll be in San Diego, Las Vegas (weeee Poker) and San Francisco.
I´ll starting in Frankfurt at 11am to Washington and then take a connecting flight to San Diego.
I´m not sure if I have time to write some blog posts, but after I'll write a big one with pictures and my poker experiences.

Two first places

Hey there,

in the last weeks I played some tourneys up to 11$ (and a few 22$) and could win two of them.
The first was last saturday. I usually try to play the 11$ Headsup MTT every day, but wasn´t very luck in the last time. But this time I could win the whole tournament for 280$. I have to admit that I got some very lucky hands:

The second win was on the next day. In the afternoon I just wanted to plan my tournament evening and I saw that there was this 5.10$ hyper turbo tournament was about to start. I had nothing to do this tournament, so I decided to play this while watching a DVD movie. I could gain a good stack in the first 20 or 30 hands. On the bubble I was only about average, but I could collect more when we were in the money. On the final table we played down to three players very fast and then to the headsup. In the headsup my opponent had a good chiplead, but no chance against my (mostly lucky) hands. And then I won this tournament with Q6 preflop alllin hitting a fullhouse on the Flop:

In the evening I played severall tourneys like the 11$/40k, the 11$ 1/4mio, the 3.30$Rebuy, two 22$ tournaments and the 55$ saturday special. I had not nearly as much luck as in the afternoon but that was ok.

In the next weeks, I´ll play more tournaments up to 22$ (but mostly 11$) and probably some events in the miniFTOPs. I will also try to play some fixed limit holdem, because of my trip to Las Vegas at New Year's Eve. No Limit only starts at NL200, but there are also 2/4 FL tables which are more suitable for my bankroll I guess.

Just some tournaments

In the last few weeks I played several tournaments and in some I finished in good positions.
I finished in 3rd place in the 22$ Headsup Tournament on stars (that starts every day at 14:15ET), a 71st place out of 30,081 players in the Sunday 1/4 million (11$ Buyin) and a 43rd place in the Daily Forty Grand (11$).
In the both 11$ I didn´t had enough luck to reach the final table, but I keep trying to win one of these. :P
For the next days, I´ll playing all tournaments up to 11$ Buyin.

I´ll celebrate New Years Eve in Las Vegas and try to play one or two tournaments there.

In event #12, a Headsup event with 55$ buyin, I had a very good player at my table, he got me down to 20BB and then I reraised him allin with A8o, he called with A7o and hit the 7.

I also started to play headsup sngs this week (mostly 6.25$ and some satellites). In about 70 I reached a ROI of about 6% (+Rakeback/Bonus). I decided to move up to the 11.50$ hus. For tomorrow I won a step 3 ticket that will make me able to play the miniFTOPs event #32 (26$ 6max, SuperStack and Knockout). I´ll try to win a step4 ticket for the miniFTOPs Main Event, but I won't invest too much money in the steps.

WCOOP Event #3

Two weeks ago I won a 215$ ticket for the WCOOP. I decided to play event #3 (9max NLHE) with $2M guaranteed.

It had 12066 entrants and a prize pool of 2,413,200$, with 361.98$ for ITM and up to ~335k for the first place.

It started  at 11pm localtime on Sunday here in Germany. Given that I got semesterbreak that wasn´t really a problem. 

The table I was seated at the beginning of the tournament was very loose and I could collect chips by staying tight and only play really good hands.

I probably avoided some risky but +EV spots because I wanted to get into the money.(on a 11$ MTT for example I would have played them definitely)
